| We
went on one excursion during our day at Icy Strait Point
-- on the Forest and Nature Tram. We traveled on a covered
wheeled tram and explored an old growth forest. Our guide
described the many plants and animals that inhabit these
rainforests and their importance in maintaining the delicate
balance of a healthy temperate rainforest. We were told
there is a huge population of bears on this island, but
we were not fortunate (or unfortunate) enough to see one. |
