Monet's Gardens
Water Garden

Monet’s Japanese garden was immortalized in many of his most famous paintings, such as his Water Lilies. When we arrived in Giverny, we visited this Japanese garden first. The water lilies were just barely opening up, so there were not a lot of flowers yet, but there were many lily pads. The famous Japanese bridge has been reconstructed since Monet’s time, but it was still just beautiful. The pond inside the garden is man-made. Monet had a stream from the Seine River diverted into his property.
