Paris
Seine River Cruise

In the late afternoon on our first full day of the tour, Kristi and I went on a river tour on the River Seine. This river meanders through Paris; some of the most famous monuments can be seen from the river. There are over three dozen bridges over the River Seine in Paris; all these bridges are unique and quite stunning. The most decorated bridge is the Pont Alexandre III with its gold statues and carvings. The bridges are built out of many different types of material, including bricks from the old Bastille Prison, steel like the Eiffel Tower, stone, and cement, and are used for many different purposes, including pedestrian bridges, automobile bridges, and railway bridges. The oldest bridge is Pont Neuf, which is French for “New Bridge”; it is over 400 years old and still being used today.

The movies below take you on parts of the tour on the River Seine.
